CONTROL IS IN YOUR HANDS: With the help of these 3 techniques, you will dream whatever you like!

Each of us would definitely want to dream only what he wants, and now that's possible.

It often happens that in our dreams there are things from our everyday life, but also those that have nothing to do with reality.

Because of ‘horrible’ dreams, we want to wake up as soon as we can, so our heart also skips. However, there is a way for you to dream only of what you want and to travel to your little dream empire. The idea of the dreams that you can control yourself seemed impossible. However, there are people who can recognize what they are dreaming about even during their sleep, and these are so-called lucid dreams.

Imagine that you can determine what you will dream: you could fly, go back to the past, do whatever you like. Fascinating thought, which we have so far categorized only as science fiction. Scientists of University in Adelaide (Australia) claim that they have found a way to establish control over dreams. They tested 169 volunteers, each of whom received a questionnaire and a diary, in which they were supposed to write down their dreams for a week.

In the second week, they had to apply one of the three techniques of causing lucid dreams.

The first, so-called reality check, included an exercise in which respondents should check reality in awaken state. The goal is to raise awareness of whether they are awake or dreaming.

The second technique required them to wake up briefly after five hours of sleep, and then sink into sleep again in order to return to the sleep phase in which dreaming is most likely to occur- REM phase.

The third method was so-called MILD technique (mnemonic induction of lucid dreams, that is, induction of lucid dreams by remembering), which implies that respondents need to wake up after five hours of sleep, but before they fall asleep again they need to repeat: ‘When I dream next time, I will know I am dreaming’.

In the first week before applying one of these three techniques, only 8 percent of the participants had lucid dreams. After the second week of testing, the situation was completely different: lucid dreams (dreams that they were aware of being dreams) were most often with the group that applied the MILD technique.

With them, the share of conscious dreams rose to as much as 48 percent. The principle works the following way: when you repeat the sentence that you want to remember in your dream, the intention arises in the brain to really remember that you’re dreaming, which leads to lucid dreams. The achieved results brought scientists closer to development of efficient, lucid techniques of inducing dreams, says the author Denhol Espi.
